Frequently Asked Questions

Curious about camp? We’ve compiled a list of commonly asked questions

  • You can email us at reservations@dirtroaddogz.com or text/ call us at (405) 294-6341

  • We are open 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Drop off and Pick up hours are from 8am - 10 am and 4pm - 6pm.

  • We have two temperature regulated Bunkhouses that all the pups rest in during break and sleep times. Each dog gets its own kennel and plenty of cozy blankets to snuggle on.

  • All dogs must be at least 4 months of age to join playgroup, dogs must pass a temperament test and be up to date on these three vaccinations: Rabies (valid from 1-3 years), DHPP (valid from 1-3 years), Bordetella (valid up to 1 year). We do not at this time require Canine Influenza vaccine due to reported limited availability in our area but if your vet carriers it we highly encourage your dog receive it. We also ask that your pup is up to date on their flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. All dogs are checked at intake and any dog presenting with bugs or parasites will be treated at owner’s expense.

All dogs are required to pass a temperament screening in order to facilitate a cohesive, safe play group. Temperament screenings need to be scheduled prior to coming to camp.

  • Great question!

The answer is not so simple unfortunately. At this time we do accept unfixed male dogs on the condition they pass our temperament screen, are not aggressive towards other male dogs and are not sexually dominant during play. We do not allow excessive humping, your dog must be able to disengage easily and redirect.

We do not allow females to come to camp while in heat.

Females that are unfixed and over the age of sexual maturity will not be allowed to join playgroup with unfixed male dogs to avoid the potential of silent heat couplings.

If your unfixed female comes into heat while with us a $20/day charge will be added to your bill to accommodate the additional daily cleaning and sanitizing of kennel and bedding. As well as provide compensation for the increase in care that will require a dog in heat. They will need to be on a strict 1:1 watch while outside of their kennel.

  • We will keep you updated if your dog becomes sick or injured. We will coordinate with you if we feel it is in their best interest to be seen by a vet and will take them to your vet on file for local campers.

  • Our kennel team is happy to administer medications to your fur child. Your pup’s health and safety are our top priority so medications should be clearly labeled with the dosage, when and how often it should be given, and what it is for.

  • Yes we do! Our new van service is up and running as of January 2024. We currently run pickup and drop off to and from camp M/TH/F each week. Limited space and availability. Click here to learn more about our ride program.

  • We have 5’-6’ fencing combo of wooden privacy and chain link as well as double gates at the entrance to the play area. We do daily perimeter checks as well.

  • If your dog is sick with any communicable disease or parasites they cannot come to camp for the safety and well being of the other campers . Please email our office team if you have any questions.

  • We advise you to book as far out as possible as we have limited capacity for boarding. Weekends and holidays fill fast so the sooner you reserve a spot the more likely we are to accomodate.

  • We understand plans change! We try and accommodate schedule changes by offering free cancellations if given more than 48 hours notice before booking. Less than 48 hours notice we require a fee of 20% of the total booking cost adjustment.

No-shows are subject to 100% charge of total.

Last minute cancellations for bookings on holiday dates (less than 48 hours notice) are subject to 75% of the total booking cost. If we are able to fill your last minute vacancy we will waive the fee!

  • We post daily pictures and videos on our Facebook and Instagram! You will start seeing their day within 3-4 hours of them arriving to camp.

  • We offer a camp meal plan for these situations. For dogs under 40lbs we charge $2.50 / day, dogs 40-79lbs we charge $5 / day, dogs 80lbs & up are $7.50/ day. Food is Purina Pro Plan or equivalent and each dog will receive two meals a day. The sum will be added to your balance at pickup. You can also ship food to camp for them, address it to your dogs name and send it to 18203 Ridgewood Ave, Choctaw OK 73020

  • We know how hard it can be when you have a reactive or dog selective dog. Due to the nature of our business model we require all dogs pass a temperament test before they are cleared for playgroup. We have a limit on space and availability so we want our clients to be comfortable and confident that their dogs will be safe in our care and know that the dogs they are playing with are balanced and cleared for group interaction.

If your dog does not pass the temperament test or you know they need to be on their own we can work with you. Each week we allow for 2 boardings to be a solo group. That can be a group of 2 dogs who you prefer to play together or it can be a solo dog who needs space. Groups 3+ can be kept together without incurring the Solo Group additional feel. All dogs must be able to be handled by staff, we do not accept No-Contact Boardings at this time.

See our Rates Page for more info on pricing for solo groups.
